Season Four — Nine Chevrons
Now you pay off your Rush image.
The Notebook contains one address Jonas has forbidden anyone to attempt.
Nine symbols.
The younger characters eventually discover why.
Earth once tried using Langara to reach an Ancient ship called Destiny.
And Langara nearly broke relations with Earth over it.
Jonas refuses.
McKay refuses.
Everyone who understands naquadria refuses.
Until circumstances force them.
Perhaps Destiny itself sends something through the network—not a connection, but a recognizable Ancient signal.
Someone aboard is alive.
Langara takes the risk.
The facility begins tearing itself apart.
Nine chevrons lock.
Event horizon.
And through comes—
Nicholas Rush.
Older. Exhausted. Furious.
"SHUT IT DOWN!"
They do.
Earthquake.
Naquadria instability.
Thousands nearly die.
And Rush tells them:
Destiny survived.
The crew survived.
And they found something.
Something related to the structure underlying the universe—the mystery SGU was originally pursuing.
But Destiny cannot come home.
Nor should it.
That launches:
STARGATE UNIVERSE: DESTINY
A movie.
Not "rescue everybody."
A genuine continuation of Universe.
Some original crew remain. Some have died. Some awakened decades later than others because the stasis system failed unevenly.
Daniel could plausibly have reached Destiny sometime during the missing decades.
That would be where I'd put him.
Not Langara.
Not Earth.
Destiny.
Because Daniel Jackson ultimately becoming the human being who went farther than anyone else feels right.
